Jorge Andrés' legacy embodies everything he lived and dreamed of throughout his life, reminding us that, in times of conflict, reconciliation is often the key to healing. His personal journey is a testament to this belief, as he found forgiveness with Sebastián Marroquín, formerly known as Juan Pablo Escobar Henao—the son of the man who took his father’s life. Along this path, Jorge also met Monica Lehder, daughter of Carlos Lehder Rivas, another key figure of the Medellín Cartel.

Through these encounters, Jorge, Sebastián, and Monica shared their experiences in conferences and social initiatives aimed at vulnerable communities and young people. They shed light on the hidden dimensions of violence, the stories entangled in the war on drugs, and the profound wounds it leaves behind. They also warned of the dangers of engaging in illegal activities. Most importantly, they demonstrated how they transformed their painful histories into a commitment to peace. Against all odds, they forged a meaningful friendship, showing the world that forgiveness and reconciliation are not just ideals but tangible pathways to a better society.

Through his travels, projects, and actions, Jorge has inspired and uplifted communities, particularly the youth in the 'Pablo Escobar' neighborhood. In this area, the drug trafficker’s legacy has been idealized, distorting historical reality. To counter this, Jorge invited Juan Pablo Escobar to join his project as a powerful symbol of reconciliation. The initiative aims to establish and make available to the community the Rodrigo Lara Bonilla Cultural House and Social Center, a space dedicated to education, reflection, and social transformation.

Our challenge is to transform the forgotten regions of Colombia through the pursuit of peace and integral development, in partnership with society and the private sector. We courageously assume the role of reinventing and improving the environment and the lives of its inhabitants, aiming to have a powerful impact at the local, national, and global levels!!

The Cultural and Social Center named after Rodrigo Lara Bonilla stands as a symbol of reconciliation and peace. Lara Bonilla was a courageous leader committed to justice in Colombia, leaving an indisputable legacy for all generations of this country. He was brutally murdered for the honest exercise of his office.

This initiative is a step towards building a more just, united, and reconciled country that addresses the inequalities and stigmas of the past while providing development opportunities to the communities that need them most.
